LEGO Rock Band gets official!

April 22, 2009 by Insider Staff

LEGO Rock BandLEGO Rock Band, eh? Is nothing safe from the LEGO treatment? First the Star Wars Films. Then the Indiana Jones films. Not forgetting LEGO Batman. And now the guys behind those efforts, TT Games, has joined forces with Harmonix to create possibly the most powerful coming together since Take That reformed. Or something like that.

Anyway, you can’t deny that the LEGO games have had enormous succes, so combining two of the most popular genres of this gaming generation makes sense. You will be able to build your band from scratch, as well as your entourage and roadies (no mention of groupies, though). And then perform old faves such as Blur’s Song 2, Pink’s So What and our personal favourite, Europe’s Final Countdown.

There’s no release date given yet, but we’re as excited about this as we are the Beatles Rock Band bundle. We’re going to refrain from making and “block-rocking beats” references, though, purely because they’re so obvious. However, we do hope that a few New Kids on the Block songs will be on there. How about some Block Party tracks? Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd, maybe? What about Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull? No? Oh, come on…
