Ion Audio Tailgaiter is a rockin’ dock!

The Ion Audio Tailgaiter is that rare of things: an iPod dock that actually looks like a speaker. In all our days as gadget journalists we’ve seen everything from valve-and zeppelin-shaped docks to docks shaped like cubes and orbs! The Tailgaiter, though, has gone old-skool and dressed up as one of those speakers you’d find at a rock concert.

The Ion Audio Tailgaiter isn’t just a pretty (old-skool) face, though. This iPod dock features a single-unit construction with speakers, amplifier and audio inputs all for your pleasure. It’s compatible with all flavours of iPod, including the iPhone and iPod Touch, and it sounds awesome – perfect for rocking out to a bit of Mettalica.

You can even take the Tailgaiter out on tour with you thanks to its eight hour battery. And thanks to the audio inputs you can hook up all manner of instrumental goodness, including microphones for a spot of karaoke. Although we’re not sure how the general public will react to your best Axel Rose impressions.
