LG’s W53 monitor saves eyes!
April 15, 2009 by Insider Staff
Okay, so the LG W53 monitor doesn’t exactly save eyes as such. But it does minimize eye strain using some very clever technology. And not only that, it’s also a very effective monitor…
First up, the LG W53’s ability to protect your peepers from excessive strain. The monitor uses “automatic brightness control technology” so that the monitor’s picture settings and brightness automatically update to suit your ambient surroundings and apparently minimizes eye-strain. LG’s even dishing out timers to remind you to take a break from looking at your screen and save your ‘balls from burn out.
The monitor itself comes in a range of sizes, from 18.5 inches to a whopping 27 incher. Heading up the spec list is the Full-HD resolution of 1920×1080, with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a contrast ratio of 50,000:1, which means it’s whites are whiter than Simon Cowell’s teeth and the blacks are blacker than the black bit of a killer whale.
It’s even got a special Cinema Mode that will block out online video distractions. You know the ones: “You’re our one millionth customer.” “You’ve won a prize” “Penis enlargement through a pill”. Everything’s blacked out except for the video. Nice.
No word on price as of yet, but they will be on sale in the UK in May. Let’s hope our eyes last that long…
